Chennai: IIT Madras is partnering with Vertiv and IIT Madras Pravaryal Technologies Foundation to build a skilled digital talent pool in India.
As part of the initiative, 2000+ science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) students will be trained with a 35-hour self-paced online program in data centre operations & maintenance.
From this initial pool of students, a select 160 students will get an opportunity to attend a five-day immersion program at the IIT Madras campus.
These students will be recognised with a Certified Intelligent Data Centre Operations & Maintenance five-day program completion from IIT Madras.
This certification will be widely recognised for data-driven, AI-powered data centres. The curriculum is designed to equip students with industry-relevant skills, combining theoretical knowledge and hands-on training aligned with the growing demands of India’s digital economy.
The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with IIT Nadras Pravartak Technologies Foundation. This is a Section 8 company funded by the DST, GoI, under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems.
The training program covers critical topics like data centre infrastructure, thermal and power management, remote monitoring and predictive maintenance strategies essential for maintaining uptime and operational efficiency.
