Chandigarh: In a major administrative reshuffle aimed at improving governance and efficiency, the Punjab government has transferred six IAS officers. Accordingly, IAS Vishesh Sarangal (2013 batch), former Chief Administrator of Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA), SAS Nagar, has been appointed Special Secretary and Director, Good Governance and Information Technology.Â
He will also serve as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Punjab State e-Governance Society.Â
Other transfers include
- IAS Sakshi Sawhney (2014 batch): The outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar is now the Chief Administrator of GMADA. Her posting under the Department of Housing and Urban Development highlights the government’s emphasis on planned urban development in Mohali.
- IAS Aditya Uppal (2014 batch): Former Deputy Commissioner, Pathankot, and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Pathankot, he has been appointed Deputy Commissioner, Gurdaspur.
- IAS Dalwinderjit Singh (2017 batch): Transferred from Deputy Commissioner, Gurdaspur, to Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar.
- IAS Pallavi (2017 batch): Previously handling multiple portfolios in Water Supply & Sanitation, Power, and Renewable Energy, she became Deputy Commissioner, Pathankot, and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Pathankot.
- IAS Harpreet Singh (2019 batch): Former Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Fatehgarh Sahib, has joined the Department of Water Supply and Sanitation.
These appointments are part of a broader push to ensure effective governance and improved service delivery.
