New Delhi: IAS Dr. Priyanka Shukla, a 2009-batch officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ (MY Bharat).
The appointment, approved by the Central Government’s Appointments Committee, is for a three-year deputation term. With this, Dr. Shukla becomes the first CEO of the youth-focused national initiative.
Over the course of her administrative career, Dr. Shukla has held several important roles at the district and state levels. She served as District Collector of Jashpur and Kanker, where she launched ‘Yashaswi Jashpur’, an initiative aimed at improving education outcomes and student awareness. She also led public engagement programs such as ‘Jashpur – Ek Pran’, which included rallies to encourage voter participation.
At the state level, she has worked as Commissioner-cum-Director of Health Services, Chhattisgarh, and as Joint Secretary, Health and Mission Director of the National Health Mission. Her work in public health administration has focused on efficient service delivery and community outreach.
Dr. Shukla is widely known for her people-centric approach and quick decision-making. Her contributions to governance and social development have earned her several national honours, including the National Award for effective implementation of MGNREGS initiatives, the Rashtriya Saksharta Puraskar from the President of India, and the President’s Silver Medal for her role in the 2011 Census.
Her appointment is expected to strengthen MY Bharat’s mission to engage and empower youth across the country
