Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has begun rolling out a new school reform campaign across government schools. The ‘Chief Minister Educated Rajasthan Campaign’, launched on March 29 during Rajasthan Day week, marks the state’s latest effort to align its school system with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The initiative is being introduced in phases from the 2025–26 academic session and focuses on improving learning outcomes, digital monitoring, and community involvement. According to officials, the state aims to strengthen foundational learning, track student progress more effectively, and raise enrolment and attendance in government schools, areas that have remained policy priorities for several years.
A notable part of the campaign is the use of AI-based ORF (Oral Reading Fluency) classification to assess students’ reading abilities. Insights from this assessment will feed into Prakhar 2.0, an expanded reading remediation programme designed to support students who fall behind in basic literacy. Existing departmental initiatives such as Prakhar and NIPUN are also being aligned with the new campaign to streamline learning interventions rather than introduce parallel schemes.
The government has placed particular emphasis on local participation. Principals, teachers, school management committees, monitoring committees, and community groups are expected to play a larger role in reviewing school performance, identifying gaps, and supporting teachers in implementing classroom improvements.
The campaign is also expected to influence institutional processes by strengthening teacher training, improving resource allocation, and reinforcing school management structures. Officials say the phased implementation will help identify practical challenges early, especially in remote or underserved regions where access and retention remain concerns.
By focusing on attendance, dropout reduction, and learning-level improvement, the initiative seeks to address long-standing structural issues while keeping the approach data-driven and consistent with NEP-2020 priorities.
