New Delhi: Â In a major administrative reshuffle, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has transferred 31 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across the country. Accordingly, IAS Ashwani Kumar (1992 batch) has been transferred from Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir.
Kumar served as the MCD Commissioner from June 2024 to January 2026. Previously, he also oversaw the unification of three municipal corporations into a unified MCD as the special officer.
The list of other notable transfers includes
IAS Sanjeev Khirwar (1994 batch), who was transferred to Ladakh after facing allegations in a controversy around walking his dog in the capital’s Thyagaraj Stadium, has been posted back to Delhi.
IAS Santosh D Vaidya (1998 batch), who served as the Principal Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, has been transferred to Delhi.
IAS Padma Jaiswal (2003 batch), who was posted in Puducherry as the Secretary to the Government for State and Union Territories, has now been moved to Delhi.
IAS Shurbir Singh (2004 batch), Secretary, Finance Department, Delhi, has been transferred to Ladakh.
IAS R Alice Vaz (2005 batch), Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi, has been moved to Jammu and Kashmir.
IAS Yashpal Garg (2008 batch) has been transferred from Arunachal Pradesh to Delhi.
IAS Sanjeev Ahuja (2008 batch) has been moved from Goa to Delhi.
IAS Niraj Kumar (2010 batch) has been transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to Delhi.
IAS Sayed Abid Rashid Shah (2012 batch) has been moved from Jammu and Kashmir to Chandigarh.
IAS Satyendra Singh Dursawat (2012 batch) has been transferred from Andaman and Nicobar to Delhi.
IAS Aman Gupta (2013 batch) has been transferred from Andaman and Nicobar Islands to Delhi.
IAS Rahul Singh (2013 batch) has been transferred from Lakshadweep to Delhi.
IAS Anjali Sehrawat (2013 batch) has been transferred from Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir.

IAS Sagar D Dattatray (2014 batch) has been shifted from Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu to Jammu and Kashmir.
IAS Arjun Sharma (2015 batch) has been moved from Andaman and Nicobar Islands to Delhi.
IAS Vandana Rao (2015 batch) has been transferred from Delhi to Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
IAS Baseer Ul Haq Chaudhary (2015 batch) has been shifted from Jammu and Kashmir to Ladakh.
IAS Michael M D’Souza (2015 batch) has been moved from Ladakh to Goa.
IAS Akriti Sagar (2016 batch) has been transferred from Arunachal Pradesh to Jammu and Kashmir.
IAS Kumar Abhishek (2016 batch) has been shifted from Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir.
