Greater Noida: Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET), Greater Noida, has announced a collaboration with Salesforce to establish a Tableau Lab on its campus.
The initiative aims to build data literacy and analytical capabilities among students and address India’s rising demand for data-skilled professionals.
Hands-On Learning with Agentic Analytics
The Tableau Lab will provide students with practical exposure to Tableau, enabling them to move beyond basic data visualization. The focus will be on agentic analytics, where students learn how to convert trusted insights into autonomous action through business intelligence tools. The lab will help students understand how data can actively support decision-making across industries.
Industry-Aligned Curriculum and Faculty Training
Salesforce will co-design the curriculum for the lab, aligned with its vision of democratizing analytics through AI-first capabilities. The programme will also include extensive faculty training to ensure effective delivery. The curriculum will offer an immersive learning experience using Tableau Agent, which introduces conversational AI into analytics. Students will learn natural language data exploration and Q&A calibration to improve the accuracy and relevance of AI-driven insights.
Leadership Views on Collaboration
Romil Agarwal, Vice President Sales, Salesforce India, said data has become central to India’s growth journey. He noted that agentic data systems, where AI not only provides insights but also acts on them, are critical future skills. He added that initiatives like the Tableau Lab will help students master these workflows and prepare them to drive impact across sectors.
Dr. Neema Agarwal, Additional Managing Director, NIET Greater Noida, said the institute remains focused on integrating advanced technologies with industry-aligned education. She said the partnership with Salesforce will help students develop analytical confidence and innovative thinking while preparing them for real-world challenges.
Dr. Anil Kumar Ahlawat, Director Academics, NIET Greater Noida, said the Tableau Lab will be open to students across all programmes, from undergraduate to research levels. He noted that skills in analytics, cloud technologies, CRM, and data visualization are in high demand across sectors such as IT, finance, healthcare, and retail.
