New Delhi: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated the National IED Data Management System (NIDMS) of the National Security Guard (NSG) through video conferencing in New Delhi.
The launch was attended by senior officials, including the Union Home Secretary, Director of the Intelligence Bureau, Director General of NSG, chiefs of Central Armed Police Forces and Directors General of Police from several states.
Addressing the event, Shah said NIDMS would serve as a next-generation security platform for investigating terrorist incidents and analysing explosion-related data.
He noted that while the Ministry of Home Affairs had generated vast datasets over the years, they largely remained siloed. The new system aims to integrate these datasets and enable advanced AI-based analysis.
NIDMS will provide a two-way, secure, and integrated online platform for agencies such as the NIA, state ATS units, police forces and CAPFs. The database includes records of bomb explosions dating back to 1999, allowing agencies to study patterns, modus operandi, and interlinkages between incidents.
Shah said the platform aligns with the “One Nation, One Data Repository” vision and will enhance coordination, evidence-based prosecution, and rapid access to critical information, strengthening India’s internal security framework.
