New Delhi: Ravi Kota has been recommended as the new Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a PSU under the Ministry of Defence.Â
Ravi currently serves as Director (Operations) in the same organisation.
Before this appointment, Ravi was responsible for the fixed-wing business of HAL and oversaw the operationalization of the LCA Tejas fleet in the Indian Air Force (IAF). He led a team to finalise the contract in defense sector for supplying 83 LCA Mk1A with a contract value of more than Rs. 36000 crore in 2002. Moreover, he worked with IAF for an additional 97 LCA Mk1A Order, which would form the backbone of the Indian Air Force in times to come
The PESB recommendation will now be forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval. Upon clearance, Ravi will take charge as the CMD of HAL.
