New Delhi: Grid-India Limited, a public sector undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Power, has appointed S. Usha as Director (Market Operation).
This makes Usha the first woman to hold this key position in the company’s history.
Usha brings over 35 years of extensive experience across the Indian power sector. She has previously worked with the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) and POWERGRID. Before this appointment, Usha served as Executive Director at the National Load Despatch Centre (NLDC) of Grid-India, wherein she made significant contributions to power market reforms and the secure operation of the national electricity grid.
In her new role, Usha will oversee market operations, regulatory implementation, and system efficiency functions at Grid-India. She will be responsible for providing strategic direction for electricity market development, strengthening electricity market mechanisms, enhancing grid reliability, supporting the integration of renewable energy sources into the national grid, and ensuring transparent, efficient, and secure market operations.Â
