New Delhi: Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and French President Emmanuel Macron inaugurated the Indo-French Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Health at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi, marking a major step in digital health cooperation between the two countries.
The centre, known as IF-CAIH, has been set up as a joint initiative to promote AI-driven research, medical education, and clinical innovation. It aims to address complex healthcare challenges through the use of advanced technologies.
According to an official statement, the launch reflects a growing India-France partnership in digital health and aligns with India’s broader push to use technology to create more equitable and accessible healthcare systems.
The inauguration coincided with the Rencontres Universitaires Et Scientifiques De Haut Niveau (RUSH) meetings held at AIIMS on February 18–19, 2026. A key highlight was the Indo-French Forum on AI in Brain Health and Global Healthcare, which brought together leading experts from both nations to strengthen collaboration in research and innovation.
