New Delhi: GAIL (India) Limited has announced the appointment of Rohit Mathur as the Government Nominee Director on its Board.
Mathur is currently serving as the Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoP&NG).
The appointment has been effective from 9 March 2026 and is set for a tenure of three years or until further orders, whichever comes first.
The appointment highlights the ministry’s continued focus and strategic guidance for public sector undertakings in the energy sector.
Mathur’s appointment is expected to strengthen alignment with government policies in the oil and natural gas sector while supporting strong governance across key initiatives such as natural gas pipeline expansion, LNG imports, and domestic gas marketing.
GAIL (India) Limited has also initiated the required onboarding formalities in compliance with the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 to ensure a smooth completion of the induction process.
