Noida, June 29 (APAC Media): Gold prices in India’s retail market edged lower on Monday, June 29, with rates for both 24-karat and 22-karat gold registering marginal declines across major cities. Silver prices also fell in the domestic bullion market, tracking the broader weakness in precious metals.
MCX gold August futures slipped 0.32% on June 29, trading at ₹144,130 per 10 grams, while MCX silver futures were down 0.13% at ₹223,470 per kilogram.
According to retail bullion updates, rates for both 24-karat and 22-karat gold slipped in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad.
The decline mirrored softness in international markets, where precious metals came under pressure amid fluctuating dollar movement and cautious investor sentiment.

|---|---|---|---|
| Delhi | ₹141,050 | ₹131,129 | ₹211,290 |

Traders said the decline in precious metals was largely driven by profit-booking at higher levels, alongside a lack of fresh triggers to support sustained upside momentum.
In the retail segment, 24-karat gold continued to trade above the ₹1.43 lakh per 10-gram mark in most major cities, while 22-karat gold, widely used in jewellery, also registered a slight drop.
Silver prices similarly eased across domestic markets, reflecting weakness in global benchmarks.

Market participants also remained focused on global macroeconomic cues, including interest rate expectations and fluctuations in the US dollar, which continue to influence bullion demand.
Meanwhile, international crude oil benchmarks traded higher. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose 1.4% to $70.19 per barrel, while Brent crude gained 0.79% to $72.54 per barrel. Despite the uptick, WTI had previously settled below the $70 mark on Friday for the first time since February 27, the day before the escalation of geopolitical tensions linked to the Iran conflict.
Analysts noted that commodity markets remain sensitive to shifting geopolitical developments and central bank policy outlooks, which are likely to continue guiding price movements in the near term.
Safe-haven demand for gold, however, remained relatively subdued amid a stronger dollar environment and cautious risk sentiment in global equity markets.
Overall, bullion prices remained under mild pressure, with both domestic and futures markets reflecting a broadly range-bound trend as investors awaited clearer macroeconomic signals.
