New Delhi, June 29 (APAC Media): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared the extension of IAS Manoj Joshi additional charge as Secretary, Department of Fertilisers, up to July 13, 2026.
He will continue in the role during the leave of incumbent Secretary Rajat Kumar Mishra.
According to a Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) order issued on Monday, IAS Manoj Joshi will continue to discharge the additional responsibilities with immediate effect.
He is currently serving as Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals.
The arrangement remains valid till July 13, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Joshi was first assigned the additional charge on June 15, 2026, during the leave of IAS Rajat Kumar Mishra.
The earlier approval was valid till June 28, 2026. The latest extension ensures continuity in the functioning of the department.
Born on January 13, 1967, in Rajasthan, IAS Manoj Joshi is a 1989-batch Kerala cadre IAS officer.
He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering along with qualifications in financial management and business administration.
Over a career spanning more than three decades, he has served in several key roles at both the Centre and in the Kerala government.
His experience includes postings such as Secretary in multiple ministries, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Joint Secretary, District Collector, and Secretary to the Chief Minister.
In Kerala, he also served as Managing Director of the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC).
He also chaired major public sector enterprises, including The Travancore Cochin Chemicals Ltd., contributing to industrial development and public administration.
The extension of his additional charge ensures smooth and uninterrupted functioning of the Department of Fertilisers during the absence of the regular Secretary.
