Noida, June 30 (APAC Media): Gold and silver prices witnessed a notable decline on Tuesday, across key Indian markets, including Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, according to the latest retail updates.
The drop in bullion rates comes amid a broader weakness in global precious metal markets and shifting investor sentiment.
MCX gold futures for August delivery traded lower on Tuesday, falling 1.6% to ₹140,970 per 10 grams. MCX silver futures also declined, easing 1.12% to ₹220,680 per kilogram.
In the energy markets, oil prices slipped as investors remained cautious ahead of potential US-Iran talks scheduled in Doha.
The sentiment was further weighed down after both sides exchanged missile strikes over the weekend, raising concerns over the stability of an interim ceasefire aimed at de-escalating a four-month-long conflict.
Brent crude futures for August delivery, which expire on Tuesday, dropped 1.03%, or 75 cents, to $72.40 per barrel. The more actively traded September Brent contract declined 0.54% or 40 cents to $73.51 per barrel.

As per retail pricing trends, 24-carat gold and 22-carat gold saw a downward movement compared to recent highs earlier in the month.
The decline has been reflected across leading jewellery markets, where buyers typically track the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) benchmark rates before making purchases.

|---|---|---|---|

| Mumbai | ₹140,800 | ₹129,817 | ₹210,180 |

| Chennai | ₹140,290 | ₹129,266 | ₹210,660 |
In Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, gold rates varied slightly due to local taxes, transportation costs and making charges applied by jewellers. Despite these differences, the overall trend remained weak, with both 24K and 22K gold prices easing during the day’s trading session.
Analysts noted that the correction in domestic prices mirrors international cues, where gold has come under pressure due to stronger dollar movement and expectations of stable interest rates in major economies.

Silver also mirrored gold’s downward trend, with 999 purity silver rates slipping in major cities. The metal, often considered more volatile than gold, has seen sharper fluctuations in recent weeks as industrial demand and global economic signals continue to influence pricing.
Market experts suggest that the recent fall could offer short-term buying opportunities for retail consumers, especially ahead of seasonal demand cycles in India.
However, they also caution that volatility may persist depending on global economic data and central bank policy signals.
Overall, the June 30 session highlights continued instability in the bullion market, with both gold and silver adjusting to global macroeconomic pressures while remaining closely watched by investors and jewellery buyers across India.
