New Delhi, July 31 (APAC Media): The Delhi government is preparing to introduce Property Aadhaar Cards to give every property in the national capital a unique digital identity.
To implement the initiative, the government will bring the Delhi Land Records Bill, 2026, which aims to create a transparent and technology-driven property records system through digital mapping and scientific surveys.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the new system will provide every property with a trusted digital identity and make land records more organised and secure.
Unique ID for Every Property
Under the proposed law, every property in Delhi will be surveyed using modern technologies, including drones. Digital records will be created for every floor of every residential and commercial building, with each property receiving a Unique Property ID through a Property Aadhaar Card.
The government plans to convene a special Assembly session to pass the Bill, which is currently under approval after being reviewed by the Group of Ministers.
The initiative is based on Delhi’s experience under the SVAMITVA Scheme, under which smart property cards were issued for 30 rural villages with support from the Survey of India.
