The leadership change comes as enterprises in India expand their use of artificial intelligence, cloud services and digital infrastructure, increasing the need for cybersecurity across networks, applications and data.
Krishnan will oversee Check Point’s business operations in India and South Asia, including strategy, P&L, go-to-market operations and partner development. He will also focus on strengthening the company’s relationships with enterprise customers and government organisations.
Krishnan V V Joins Check Point From Palo Alto Networks
Krishnan joins Check Point from Palo Alto Networks, where he served as Country Director – BFSI. He worked with customers in India’s financial services sector and previously held senior roles at Seclore, Symantec, Oracle, Sun Microsystems and Wipro.
His experience includes cybersecurity, enterprise technology, sales and partner management across India and international markets.
AI Security Gains Focus In Check Point’s India Strategy
AI security will be one of the key areas under Krishnan’s leadership. Check Point said its India and South Asia operations will focus on four areas: hybrid mesh network security, workspace security, exposure management and AI security.
As companies deploy AI across business functions, security teams are also dealing with new risks involving AI applications, data and access controls. This is pushing cybersecurity providers to expand beyond traditional network protection.
India is also an important technology and R&D location for Check Point. The company operates its largest R&D centre outside Israel in the country, supporting product development and cybersecurity research.
Krishnan will report to Ruma Balasubramanian, President, Asia Pacific and Japan, at Check Point Software Technologies.
