New Delhi: Big boost to Digital India. Google will invest 10 Billion USD or 75000 crore rupees in India in next 5-7 years. This was announced by Google CEO Sundar Pichai on Monday.
Speaking at 6th edition of ‘Google for India’ event Pichai said, ‘Today at #GoogleForIndia we announced a new $10B digitization fund to help accelerate India’s digital economy. We’re proud to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for Digital India.’
For the first time the event happened on virtual platform due to corona outbreak situation.
‘We will do this through a mix of equity investment partnerships and operational infrastructure is a reflection of our confidence in the future of India
investments will focus on four areas important to India’s digitalisation first enabling affordable access and information for every Indian in their own language,’ further added Google & Alphabet CEO Pichai.
