Kanpur: E-commerce company Moglix has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in artificial intelligence.
Moglix and the Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Driven Entrepreneurship – Center of Excellence (AIIDE-CoE) at the institute’s Noida campus will build a platform for startups. This platform will offer access to mentorship, networking, infrastructure, research and development, training, and funding opportunities.
“This collaboration is an excellent opportunity for us to work with a leading industry player and contribute to the development of innovative AI solutions that will have a significant impact on the infrastructure and industrial space,” said Nikhil Agarwal, chief executive officer, AIIDE-CoE.
Further, Moglix and IIT Kanpur will work on developing new AI technologies in the field of supply chain optimisation, product recommendation, image recognition, natural language processing, and predictive maintenance. The two organisations will support the incubated startups in regard to investment, strategic partnership, best practices, and collaborating on new projects.
Speaking about the partnership, Rahul Garg, Founder & CEO-Moglix and a distinguished alumnus of IIT-Kanpur, said, ” We are excited to partner with IIT-Kanpur to drive innovation in AI technology for the manufacturing industry. In a statement, the company said that the partnership is in line with the Uttar Pradesh government’s flagship startup policy 2020 which aims at building domain-specific centers of excellence in the state. As per the state’s startup policy 2020, UP aims to be among the top three states in startup ranking and establish/support at least one incubator in each district.
