Hyderabad: State-owned HPCL has launched its premium fuel named, ‘poWer95’ recently at Millennium Pearl COMCO, Hyderabad. During the launch, Amit Garg, Director (Marketing), HPCL also highlighted the benefits of poWer 95 fuel in vehicles.
Highlighting the benefits of poWer 95 fuel, he said, it leads “to better engine performance, lower emissions, and better driving experience.”
poWer95 is high-performance petrol developed by HPCL’s R&D Centre at Bengaluru that has an octane rating of 95, which is higher than the regular petrol (91), resulting in improved engine performance, efficiency, smoother acceleration, lower tailpipe emission and better drivability.
What does fuel octane rating mean?
The octane number, also known as the octane rating, is a measure of gasoline quality or performance. The higher the number, the more efficiently fuel burns in a vehicle’s engine. Higher octane fuels are required for high-performance vehicles. The fuel octane rating is about how much knock resistance the fuel has. It is about how it burns in a controlled way under pressure when it is heated. Fuels with higher octane levels, like 95 octanes, resist autoignition better than low-octane fuels.
