New Delhi: Distribution company Jammu & Kashmir Power Corporation Ltd (JKPCL) and Rajasthan Urja Vidyut Nigam Limited (RUVNL) have collaborated to purchase power from energy producer SJVN (formerly known as Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam) Limited.
SJVN, in a regulatory filing on Thursday, said, “JKPCL and RUVNL have given their consent for purchase of 600 MW and 500 MW power, respectively, against a capacity of 1,000 MW at a tariff of Rs 2.57/kWh.”
SJVN Ltd has extended an offer to provide power to beneficiaries in the northern region. This power supply will originate from a 1,000 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) station set to be established in Poogal tehsil, located in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district, as part of the CPSU (Central Public Sector Undertaking) scheme initiated by the central government.
The electricity generated by this project will serve government agencies, either directly or through discoms.
SJVN Ltd operates under the administrative oversight of the Union Ministry of Power and operates as a joint venture between the central government and the government of Himachal Pradesh.
