New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the first world leader to surpass 2 crore (20 million) subscribers on his personal YouTube channel. This milestone was reached on Tuesday, solidifying Modi’s unique position among global leaders in the digital sphere.
Officials report that the videos featured on Modi’s channel have garnered an impressive 4.5 billion views, surpassing the online presence of his international counterparts by a significant margin. Former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro trails as the second-highest in subscriber numbers, with approximately 64 lakh, less than one-third of Modi’s achievement.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy takes second place in terms of views, amassing 22.4 crore, a fraction of Modi’s staggering viewership. In contrast, US President Joe Biden boasts 7.89 lakh subscribers, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan follows with 3.16 lakh.
Additionally, ‘Yoga with Modi,’ a YouTube channel associated with the prime minister, has garnered significant attention, accumulating more than 73,000 subscribers. Notably, Modi initiated his YouTube channel in 2007 during his tenure as Gujarat chief minister, showcasing his early recognition of the potential of social media in political communication.
