Jaipur: IAS officer Sudhansh Pant, from the 1991 batch, has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Rajasthan, succeeding Usha Sharma. Pant, formerly the Union Health and Family Welfare Secretary, was recently repatriated by the central government to his home cadre of Rajasthan.
Ranked seventh in seniority among IAS officers in the Rajasthan cadre, Pant surpassed six officers to assume the role of Chief Secretary. In addition to his new position, Pant has been assigned the additional responsibility of serving as the Chairman of Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited.
Pant has previously served as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Secretary in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, and OSD in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. Before his central deputation, he held the positions of Director General of HCM RIPA and ex-officio Additional Chief Secretary (Training) in the state.
The government of India approved his return to the home cadre. This marks Pant’s third appointment in the past year, with his repatriation and subsequent appointment as the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan.
