New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed IPS officer Daljit Singh Chaudhary as the Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). He is currently serving as the Special Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Chaudhary’s tenure in the SSB role has been approved until November 30, 2025, coinciding with his superannuation. He is a 1990-batch officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre.
The SSB, responsible for safeguarding India’s borders with Nepal and Bhutan, had been without a Director General for an extended period. The vacancy arose after the transfer of IPS Rashmi Shukla back to the Maharashtra cadre earlier this month. Following her transfer, Shukla assumed the role of Director General of Police (DGP) for Maharashtra.
