Dehradun: Uttarakhand witnessed a historic moment today as the state welcomed its first woman Chief Secretary, IAS Radha Raturi. A government order issued on Wednesday formalised the appointment.
Raturi is an officer from the 1988 batch, succeeding Dr SS Sandhu, whose tenure concluded today. She was previously serving as the Additional Chief Secretary for Home and Secretariat Administration in Uttarakhand.
A UPSC CSE topper in all her attempts, Raturi initially secured selections in both IPS and Indian Information Service before opting for the IAS. She has a background in journalism, and held the crucial position of Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakhand for a decade. Raturi is also proficient in writing, photography, and folk singing.
