New Delhi: UNICEF India, the International Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) Delhi, and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-B) have partnered to launch a new health course. Starting on April 17, 2024, the ‘Digital Health Enterprise Planning Course’ will train healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, administrators, and allied health workers, to lead the transformation of the healthcare sector. Policymakers, IT experts, and those engaged in healthcare technology are also welcome to enrol.
In line with UNICEF India’s dedication to the Global Initiative on Digital Health (GIDH), launched during India’s G20 Presidency in 2023, the course aims to improve healthcare delivery by using digital technologies effectively, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the GIDH goals.
The 10-week course consists of nine modules focusing on key aspects of digital health implementation. It begins with an examination of the connection between digital technology and healthcare, then moves on to topics like planning national digital health systems, incorporating digital interventions into healthcare systems, and implementing digital health initiatives with an enterprise approach.
Participants will learn to create digital health strategies, carry out enterprise plans, set up digital health platforms, implement interventions, handle costs and procurement, and tackle governance, policies, regulations, and workforce issues. The course ends with a module that elaborates on the future of digital health.
