New Delhi: Retired IAS officer Pradeep Kumar Sinha, has been named the Part-time Chairman of ICICI Bank. The Reserve Bank of India officially approved his appointment. Sinha is a 1977 batch IAS officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He is taking over this charge from Girish Chandra Chaturvedi, whose term ends on June 30, 2024, and will serve in this position beginning on July 1, 2024, for a period of three years.
Sinha retired as a Union Cabinet Secretary on September 12, 2019, and was then serving as the Principal Adviser in the Prime Minister’s Office under PM Narendra Modi. He has also been the Union Power Secretary and a Government Nominee Director for major PSUs such as ONGC, IOCL, HPCL, BPCL, and GAIL. He has also held board positions at Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).
