New Delhi: The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha will begin on June 24 and conclude on July 3, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has announced. Rijiju shared this update on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on June 12.
Key Activities During the Session, as informed by Rijuju
- Newly elected leaders will take their oaths or affirmations of membership.
- The election of the Speaker of the House.
- An address by President Droupadi Murmu.
- Discussions on the President’s address.
Rajya Sabha Session
The 264th session of the Rajya Sabha is set to begin on June 27 and end on July 3.Â
President’s Address and Joint Sitting
On June 27, there will be a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha addressed by President Murmu where she will outline the new government’s roadmap for the next five years. After the President’s address, PM Modi is expected to introduce his council of ministers.
