Prof. Kamal Kishore Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, and Kushvinder Vohra, Chairman of CWC, signed the agreements. The collaboration aims to develop innovative strategies for efficient water management and resilient urban flooding by utilizing the combined expertise of both institutions.
Kushvinder Vohra, Chairman, Central Water Commission, said, “By combining CWC’s extensive experience in water resources management with IIT Roorkee’s cutting-edge research capabilities, we aim to develop solutions that will benefit society and improve resilience against natural disasters.”
“Our interdisciplinary research approach, coupled with the practical insights provided by CWC, will enable us to create robust, data-driven strategies for water management and urban flood mitigation,” Prof. Kamal Kishore Pant, Director, IIT Roorkee, stated.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY), both institutions are collaborating to address critical issues in water resources management, such as detailed cropped area mapping.
