Tamil Nadu appoints IPS A Arun as commissioner of police chennai; transfers 18 IPS officers

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has transferred 18 additional IPS officers. The move comes one day after commissioner of police chennai, Dr. Sandeep Rai Rathore was transferred. Senior IPS officer A Arun has replaced him and has been appointed as the new Chennai Police Commissioner.

IPS Asra Garg, the Additional Commissioner of Police for Chennai North, has been relocated, and Narendran Nair has been appointed as the new ACP. N Kannan will replace Prem Anand Sinha as the ACP of Law and Order in Chennai South.

IPS Amalraj, the Additional DGP of Tambaram, has been relocated, and Abin Dinesh Thodak has been appointed in his stead. In the interim, Mahesh Kumar Agarwal has been appointed as the ADGP of the Chennai South Zone. Avin Dinesh Modak has succeeded Amalraj, the ADGP of Tambaran.

1. IPS Dr A. Amalraj has been transferred from Additional Director General of Police/Commissioner of Police, Tambaram Police Commissionerate, Chennai to Additional Director General of Police, Enforcement Bureau CID, Chennai
2. IPS Abin Dinesh Modak, IPS has been transferred from Additional Director General of Police, State Crime Records Bureau, Chennai to Additional Director General of Police/Commissioner of Police, Tambaram Police Commissionerate, Chennai.
3. IPS H. M. Jayaram, IPS has been transferred from Additional Director General of Police, Armed Police, Chennai to Additional Director General of Police, State Crime Records Bureau, Chennai.
4. IPS Mahesh Kumar Agarwal has been transferred from the Additional Director General of Police (Now on VR at O/o the DGP/HoPF, Chennai) to the Additional Director General of Police, Armed Police, Chennai.
5. IPS S. Venkataraman has been transferred from Additional Director General of Police, Crime Branch CID, Chennai to the Additional Director General of Police, Administration, Chennai.
6. IPS Vinit Dev Wankhade has been transferred from the Additional Director General of Police, Administration, Chennai to the Additional Director General of Police, Crime Branch CID, Chennai.
7. IPS T. S. Anbu has been transferred from Inspector General of Police, Crime Branch CID, Chennai to Additional Director General of Police, Administration, Chennai.
8. IPS Sanjay Kumar has been transferred from Additional Director General of Police, State Crime Records Bureau, Chennai to Coastal Security Group, Chennai, replacing IPS Sandeep Mittal.
9. IPS Dr Sandeep Mittal has been transferred from Additional Director General of Police, Coastal Security Group, Chennai to Additional Director General of Police, Crime Wing, Chennai, replacing IPS  Sanjay Kumar.
