New Delhi: Coal India Ltd (CIL) has moved to an online system for signing fuel supply agreements, making it easier for clients in the power and other sectors to handle paperwork digitally.
This new setup means clients no longer need to submit physical documents or visit CIL offices, as they can now complete the entire process online, including submitting bank guarantees and other required paperwork. The company says the change will cut down on red tape and make things faster for everyone involved.
So far, CIL has used the system to sign about 262 agreements for the power sector, covering 24 million tonnes of coal. For other sectors, nearly 700 agreements have been made online for around 19 million tonnes. The digital approach also helps with tracking documents, making it easier to manage for both CIL and its clients.
By moving away from paper-based processes, Coal India aims to save time and reduce hassles for customers, helping them complete fuel supply deals from wherever they are.
