Vadodra: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pedro Sanchez, his Spanish counterpart, officially inaugurated the Tata Advanced System Limited-Airbus plant in India to manufacture C-295 military aircraft.
The facility, located in Vadodara, Gujarat, is India’s first private-sector final assembly line for military aircraft. According to PM Modi, it will advance the country’s “Make in India, Make for the World” mission in addition to fortifying ties between Spain and India. According to Sanchez, the first plane will be prepared for release from this last assembly line in 2026.
During the bilateral meeting, India and Spain signed a number of memorandums of understanding (MOUs). These include MoUs on rail transport for cooperation in the planning, design, development, commissioning, and operation of infrastructure, stations, railway facilities, and equipment of long-distance passenger and freight networks as well as urban and regional railway systems.
