Mumbai: Noel Tata has joined the board of Tata Sons, taking on a unique dual role within the Tata Group’s leadership. As chairman of Tata Trusts, which controls a 66% stake in Tata Sons, he now holds positions in both entities.
At 67, Noel Tata brings a long history with the Tata Group, having previously led Trent, Voltas, and Titan. Under his guidance, Trent saw major growth in its retail arm, while Voltas doubled its revenue and saw a significant increase in stock value. This appointment follows the recent passing of his half-brother Ratan Tata, who left a legacy of steady growth and expansion.
By stepping into these dual roles, Noel Tata is expected to strengthen family involvement in the group’s strategic decisions. He and Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran are reportedly working together closely, signaling a more unified approach in managing the group’s diverse businesses.
