Dehradun: In a recent administrative overhaul, the Government of Uttarakhand has reshuffled the roles of five Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. The official notification details the transfer and fresh postings aimed at optimizing departmental functioning across the state.
As per the official notification, IPS Dhirendra Singh Gunjiyal, a 2011 batch officer, has been appointed as the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in the Prisons Department. This marks his return to active duty after being placed on a compulsory wait.

IPS Yaswant Singh (2012 batch) has been reappointed as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Crime Investigation Department (CID). Singh previously managed dual responsibilities as SP of CID and AIG of the Prisons Department, a role now streamlined under the recent changes.

IPS Amit Srivastava, also a 2012 batch officer, has been transferred from his position as SP of Uttarkashi and will now serve as SP of Regional Intelligence, a critical post in monitoring and analyzing regional security dynamics.

IPS Mamta Vohra, a 2022 batch officer, has been reassigned as SP of Police Headquarters (PHQ), moving from her previous role as SP of Regional Intelligence. Her appointment is expected to strengthen coordination at the PHQ.

Additionally, IPS Sarita Dobhal, a 2024 batch officer, has been appointed as Superintendent after serving in the Railways Department.
These strategic transfers aim to enhance efficiency and streamline operations across key police departments in Uttarakhand, reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthening law enforcement.
