New Delhi: Delhi Police has announced the promotion of senior Indian Police Service (IPS) Officer B. Shankar Jaiswal to the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). In this capacity, Jaiswal is tasked with leading Delhi Police’s efforts in strengthening its cybersecurity framework.
Expertise in Cybersecurity and Technology
With a robust academic background that includes a B. Tech from IIT Kanpur and an MS (Research) from IIT Delhi, Jaiswal has played a pivotal role in enhancing the police force’s technological capabilities. His expertise spans cybersecurity, AI-driven tools, and the strategic integration of advanced systems into daily law enforcement operations.

Prior to this role, Jaiswal served as the Joint Commissioner of Police (Technology & Licensing), where he spearheaded several transformative initiatives. ‘Safe City’ project, Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS), and Predictive Policing were some of the notable initiatives led by Jaiswal during his tenure.
