Mumbai: Devendra Fadnavis of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has taken oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, marking his third term in the role. The grand swearing-in ceremony took place at Mumbai’s iconic Azad Maidan and was administered by Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan.
In addition to Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) were sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers of the state.
The event witnessed a high-profile guest list, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah, and other prominent Union Ministers. Several Chief Ministers from various states were also in attendance. Adding to the grandeur of the occasion were distinguished personalities from the business, entertainment, and sports industries.
This marks a significant political milestone for Fadnavis, who first became the Chief Minister of Maharashtra in October 2014, serving until November 2019. During his first term, he made history by becoming the youngest Chief Minister of the state at the age of 44. His second term, however, was short-lived, lasting only five days in November 2019 when the Shiv Sena broke its alliance with the BJP.
Congratulations to Shri Devendra Fadnavis Ji on taking oath as Maharashtra’s Chief Minister.
