Chandigarh: The Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chandigarh University to research and develop innovative projects focused on energy efficiency and conservation within the state.Â
In particular, the collaboration will focus on:
- Research related to energy efficiency
- Development of projects for conservation across various sectors, including buildings, industry, clean technologies,Â
- Encouraging the use of energy-efficient appliances across domestic, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and transport sectors in the state of Punjab
The agreement was signed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PEDA, Sandeep Hans, and Raj Kumar, Professor of Mechanical Engineering Branch, Chandigarh University, at the PEDA Office. While highlighting the significance of this collaboration, Sandeep stated that Chandigarh University (CU) will promote the program at the local level to ensure sufficient participation. In addition, CU will also provide strategic research support, guidance, and direction for the development of research and development (R&D) projects, as well as for the design, testing, performance evaluation, and analysis of various technologies.
MP Singh, Director of PEDA, appreciated this initiative and the projects in the field of research and development of energy conservation in Punjab. He also put forward ideas for research and development projects related to energy conservation following the signing of the MoU.
