Chandigarh: The government of Punjab has ordered the immediate transfer and fresh postings of two senior officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS), bringing new leadership to critical departments in the state.
As per an official statement, IPS officer Nilambari Vijay Jagdale, a 2008 batch officer, has been appointed as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Counter Intelligence in Punjab. She will replace IPS officer J Elanchezhian, who has held the position until now. Nilambari Vijay Jagdale brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having previously served as the Director of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau. Her tenure in the Vigilance Bureau was marked by her proactive efforts in combating corruption and enhancing transparency in governance, earning her widespread recognition for her integrity and professionalism.
In a simultaneous move, IPS J Elanchezhian has been appointed as the new Director of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau. Known for his meticulous approach to policing and investigation, Elanchezhian is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the Bureau’s operations. His expertise and experience in handling complex assignments make him well-suited to lead the agency tasked with maintaining accountability and ethical governance in the state.
