New Delhi: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Delhi government has announced the transfer and fresh postings of two senior officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS). The move aims to strengthen the functioning of the Delhi Police and enhance efficiency in critical departments.
According to official orders, IPS Vivek Gogia, a 1991-batch officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as the Special Commissioner of Police (CP) for the Special Cell. The Special Cell is a vital unit within the Delhi Police, tasked with handling anti-terror operations, cybercrime, and other high-profile investigations. Gogia’s extensive experience, particularly in operations and technology-driven policing, is expected to play a crucial role in bolstering the Special Cell’s capabilities. Prior to this, he served as the Special Commissioner of Police for Operations (PCR & Communication) and had additional responsibility for the Technology and Project Implementation Division.
Simultaneously, IPS Manish Kumar Agarwal, a 1996-batch officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been entrusted with the role of Special CP for Operations (PCR & Communication). Agarwal will also oversee the Technology and Project Implementation Division, a critical unit responsible for modernizing the force’s technological infrastructure.
The reshuffle underscores the Delhi government’s commitment to optimizing police operations, ensuring better coordination, and adopting advanced technologies. These appointments are part of a broader strategy to address the evolving security challenges in the capital and improve public service delivery by the Delhi Police.
