New Delhi: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has signed an agreement with 22 EdTech companies to introduce 40 new learning tools as part of the fourth phase of the National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT). These tools aim to improve online learning for students across the country.
How the Tools Were Selected ?
AICTE reviewed more than 300 products with the help of experts and selected 40 of them for their quality and usefulness. These tools, available on the NEAT portal (neat.aicte-india.org), use artificial intelligence (AI) to offer personalized learning experiences to students.
AICTE Chairman T.G. Sitharam said the use of AI will help improve learning outcomes by tailoring the content to each student’s needs. He also shared that new tools will be added to the portal every few months after thorough evaluation.
What Is NEAT?
NEAT was launched by the Ministry of Education in 2019 under a public-private partnership. Its goal is to connect students with affordable and effective EdTech solutions. In its third phase, NEAT 3.0, launched in January 2022, free course coupons worth ₹253 crore were given to over 12 lakh students from underprivileged backgrounds.
Focus on New Skills and Emerging Fields
NEAT 4.0 will include tools that focus on industry-related skills in fields such as Biomedical Engineering, Health and Wellness, and Space Technology. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, chairman of the National Educational Technology Forum (NETF), said the goal is to make students more employable by teaching them skills needed in today’s job market.
Chief Coordination Officer Buddha Chandrasekhar said the platform will continue to add new technologies to help students stay updated with modern learning trends. Students can access these tools on the NEAT portal, which aims to make high-quality digital learning accessible to all.
