New Delhi: Delhivery, a leading logistics provider, has introduced a two-hour delivery service for brands under its new initiative, Rapid Commerce. The service aims to meet the increasing demand for quick deliveries in India’s e-commerce market.
Bengaluru First to Pilot Service
The company launched Rapid Commerce in Bengaluru, where it currently handles over 300 orders daily. The initiative allows direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands to fulfill orders faster using Delhivery’s shared in-city “Rapid Stores,” which act as fulfillment hubs. According to Ajith Pai, Chief Operating Officer at Delhivery, this approach enables brands to streamline delivery costs and offer quicker access to products for their customers.
Expansion to Major Cities Planned
Delhivery plans to extend Rapid Commerce to other cities, including Hyderabad, Chennai, NCR, Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad, in the coming months. The service caters to sectors such as beauty and personal care, fashion, electronics, and accessories, allowing businesses to deliver products to consumers within hours of an order being placed.
Quick Commerce Market Growth in India
India’s quick commerce market has seen rapid growth in recent years. A report by Mordor Intelligence estimates the market will grow from $3.49 billion in 2025 to $4.35 billion by 2030, with a CAGR of 4.5%. Another study by Chryseum highlights a 280% surge in sales for the sector over the past two years, signaling a strong consumer preference for faster deliveries.
The rollout of Rapid Commerce reflects a larger shift in India’s e-commerce ecosystem, where logistics providers are focusing on reducing delivery times to enhance customer experience. Delhivery’s initiative aligns with this trend, positioning itself as a key player in the evolving quick commerce space.
