New Delhi: In a key move to further bolster rail infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate multiple railway projects today through video conferencing.
The projects to be inaugurated are as follows:
The newly established Jammu Railway Division, spanning 742.1 km and encompassing the Pathankot-Jammu-Udhampur-
Srinagar-Baramulla, Bhogpur Sirwal-Pathankot, Batala-Pathankot, and Pathankot-Joginder Nagar sections, will greatly benefit Jammu and Kashmir and its neighboring regions. This development addresses a long-standing aspiration of the people of J&K, enhancing connectivity with the rest of India. It is poised to generate employment opportunities, foster infrastructure growth, boost tourism, and drive the region’s overall socio-economic development. The Charlapalli New Terminal Station, located in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana, will be developed as a new coaching terminal at a cost of approximately ₹413 crore. It features a second entry and eco-friendly design along with enhanced passenger amenities. This terminal will help decongest existing facilities in Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Kacheguda.
The Rayagada Railway Division Building of the East Coast Railway will improve connectivity across Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and adjacent areas, contributing to the socio-economic growth of the region.
