Patna: In a major reshuffle within Bihar’s police administration, the state government has transferred seven IPS officers, under which it has appointed five new officers to key positions and assigned additional charges to two officers. The move is aimed at strengthening law enforcement and modernizing policing mechanisms across the state. As per the official notification, 2021-batch IPS officer Shikhar Chaudhary, previously the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Motihari Sadar-1, has been promoted as the Rural Superintendent of Police (SP) for Saran.
The list of other transfers includes:
Senior IPS officer Sudhanshu Kumar (1996 batch), currently serving as Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Traffic, has been assigned an additional crucial role as the ADG of the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) and Modernization. His new responsibilities will focus on data management and upgrading police infrastructure.
IPS officer and Railway IG P. Kannan (2005 batch) has been given the additional charge of IG Modernization, signaling the government’s emphasis on incorporating technology-driven policing solutions.
IPS officer Diksha, from the same batch, who was serving as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has been posted as SDPO of Patna Nagar, a key area in the state capital.
IPS officer Divyanjali Jaiswal (2022 batch), who was earlier a trainee ASP in Nalanda, has been appointed as SDPO for Ramnagar.
Trainee ASP Mohibullah Ansari from Saran has been posted as SDPO of Pakri Dayal, Motihari, while Shivam Dhakad, a trainee ASP from Gaya, has been given charge as SDPO of Motihari Sadar-1.
This reshuffling is seen as a strategic step by the Bihar government to enhance efficiency in the police force.
