New Delhi: Google is set to revamp its search engine in 2025, shifting from a traditional keyword-based approach to an AI-driven model. This transition will introduce more direct answers, conversational search, and real-time insights, fundamentally changing how users interact with information online.
AI-Powered Search to Replace Traditional Results
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, has outlined 2025 as a turning point for Search, with AI taking center stage. The company plans to integrate generative AI into its search engine, enabling it to understand user intent better and provide instant responses rather than just displaying links. Google’s Search Generative Experience (SGE), currently in testing, has already introduced AI-powered search results, and by next year, these features will be expanded.
New capabilities will include Conversational Search, AI-driven summaries, and multimodal search that combines text, images, and voice inputs. The integration of Google’s Bard and Gemini AI will allow users to have interactive, context-aware search experiences.
Impact on Websites, Businesses, and Advertising
The shift to AI-generated responses could reduce organic search traffic for websites that rely on Google for visibility. Businesses that depend on Google Search advertising may also face challenges, as users might engage more with AI-driven answers rather than clicking on traditional search ads.
