Chandigarh: In a significant bureaucratic rejig, the Punjab government has mandated the transfers and fresh postings of four Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. This list includes the names of IAS Varjeet Walia, IAS Simrandeep Singh, IAS Himanshu Jain and IAS Nirmal Ouseppachan.
As per the official notification, IAS Varjeet Walia (2012 batch) has been posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Rupnagar. He was previously serving as the Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion.
The other transfers:
- IAS Simrandeep Singh (2011 batch) has been posted as Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Additional CEO of the Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, replacing Walia.
- IAS Himanshu Jain (2013 batch) has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana, replacing IAS Jitendra Jorwal (2014 batch). Before this, Jain served as the Deputy Commissioner of Rupnagar.
- IAS Nirmal Ouseppachan (2017-batch) previously the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Mansa, has been transferred and posted as the Additional Secretary (Coordination) and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Minister, replacing Singh.
