Mumbai: The Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to finance and support key infrastructure projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
Under this MoU, HUDCO has committed to providing financial assistance of up to Rs. 1,50,000 crore over the next five years for infrastructure development projects undertaken by MMRDA.
The agreement also includes HUDCO offering consultancy services and capacity-building support to help MMRDA implement projects effectively and strengthen institutional capabilities.
The signing ceremony took place in Mumbai and was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and HUDCO Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Kulshrestha.
This strategic partnership aims to boost urban infrastructure in one of India’s most densely populated regions and is expected to accelerate the development of transportation networks, housing, and civic amenities.
The collaboration reflects HUDCO’s continued commitment to sustainable urban development and is expected to play a vital role in shaping the future of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
