New Delhi: In a move to streamline the electric vehicle (EV) purchase and delivery process, Ola Electric has launched a new service initiative, #HyperDelivery, which promises same-day registration and delivery of its electric scooters.
Ola Electric has rolled out the feature in select metro cities, with plans to expand to more locations in the coming weeks.
AI and In-House Systems Reduce Delivery Time
The new policy is built on the integration of artificial intelligence and automation into Ola’s backend systems, which now handle vehicle registration internally. By directly connecting with regional transport offices (RTOs), Ola has removed the dependency on third-party agents and manual paperwork. This shift is intended to eliminate delays traditionally associated with vehicle registration and delivery, which typically span several days.
According to Ola Electric, once a customer places an order—either online or at a physical store—the AI system processes documentation, verification, and registration within a few hours. Customers can then take home a fully registered vehicle on the same day.
Key Takeaways
Same-day EV registration and delivery now available in select cities
Service supported by AI and backend integration with RTOs
Available through both online purchases and physical stores
Manual paperwork and middlemen removed from the process
Industry Context
Ola Electric’s move comes at a time when Indian EV manufacturers are under pressure to improve customer experience and reduce operational inefficiencies. While EV adoption has been growing in India, long wait times for registration and delivery have remained a bottleneck.
Ola’s internal handling of vehicle registration and AI-enabled automation could prompt similar shifts across the industry, especially among startups and new-age manufacturers looking to differentiate themselves in a competitive market.
