Jharsuguda: Aiming to bridge career awareness gaps, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) and the Jharsuguda District Administration have signed an MoU to provide career counseling and life skills training to nearly 15,000 students in the district.
Initiative to Support Students’ Career Planning
The program, part of MCL’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, targets students in schools and colleges across Jharsuguda. It focuses on helping them make informed career choices while developing essential life skills.
The initiative will be implemented in collaboration with educational institutions to ensure students receive structured guidance.
Addressing Skill Gaps in Education
Many students in rural and semi-urban areas lack access to career counseling and practical skill training. This initiative aims to fill that gap by equipping students with knowledge about career paths, skill development and personal growth strategies.
The training will cover various aspects, including communication skills, decision-making and career planning.
Collaboration Between Public and Private Sectors
With government and corporate partnerships playing a key role in education development, this MoU reflects a broader effort to align industry needs with student preparedness. MCL’s CSR initiatives have previously included education-focused programs, and this latest collaboration with the district administration is expected to create long-term benefits for students.
