New Delhi: The Central Government has appointed two senior officers to key positions under central deputation, according to a recent notification from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). IAS Hari Narayan Murugan, a 2011-batch officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Director in the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation.Â
Murugan’s appointment is for a period of five years from the date of assuming charge, or until further orders—whichever is earlier.
In a parallel move, Sumeet Singh, a 2008-batch officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), has been appointed as Director in the Capacity Building Commission under the DoPT. His deputation is also for five years under the Central Staffing Scheme.
These appointments reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen administrative capacity in key departments.
