UP Govt Transfers Five IPS Officers; IPS Shivasimpi Chanappa Made DIG, Gorakhpur Range

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated a significant reshuffle within the police department, transferring five senior IPS officers. As part of the move, IPS Shivasimpi Chanappa (2009 batch) has been appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Gorakhpur Range. 

The list of other transfers includes:

• IPS Anand Suresh Rao Kulkarni (2008 batch): Transferred to Technical Services Headquarters from Gorakhpur.
• IPS Dinesh Kumar P (2009 batch): Released for central deputation. He previously served as the DIG of the Basti Zone, a position he assumed in December 2024. 
• IPS Sanjeev Tyagi (2010 batch): Appointed as DIG, Basti Range.
• IPS Shivhari Meena (2010 batch): Assigned as Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Varanasi Police Commissionerate.

These strategic appointments are seen as part of the state government’s continued efforts to strengthen law enforcement and streamline administrative efficiency across critical zones.
