New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has reiterated that aspirational districts and development blocks are a top priority for the state, identifying public participation, innovation, transparency and timely implementation as the key pillars driving progress.
In a detailed review meeting held on 29 June, CM Adityanath underlined the government’s resolve to integrate these regions into the mainstream of development with coordinated efforts and focused planning.
Highlighting the urgency of filling vacant government posts in these areas, the CM Adityanath directed officials to expedite recruitment processes, stating that delays would not be tolerated.
The review, based on field visit reports, covered 108 aspirational blocks and included inspections of 272 schools, 301 Anganwadi centres, 232 health units, 229 panchayat offices and 275 other institutions. As many as 106 development blocks were found to be on track with the state’s block development strategy.
Currently, 497 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) are operational and over 6,500 BC (business correspondents)Â Sakhis are active in promoting financial inclusion.
Senior officials also visited all eight aspirational districts, Bahraich, Balrampur, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Siddharthnagar, Sonbhadra and Shravasti, to monitor grassroots-level progress and identify areas for improvement.
Officials presented successful local initiatives during the review. Notable examples included organic lemon farming in Bansdih, Ballia, which has boosted farmer incomes and the AI-powered cancer screening centre established at a primary health centre in Fatehpur.
The CM called for such best practices to be replicated across other districts and stressed the need to strengthen data collection systems for accurate and ongoing evaluation of development progress.
